Who Was Casimir Pulaski?
Most Americans don’t realize that there are monuments, bridges, streets, highways, and towns across the United States named for a person who was most likely intersex and of transmasculine experience. Casimir Pulaski is an icon of the Polish-American community, considered the father of the American cavalry, and revered as a martyr of the American Revolutionary War. He is also almost certainly the most famous intersex person of modern history, and no one talks about it. “Who Was Casimir Pulaski?” is a short documentary film about Pulaski’s legacy and its contradictions.
