“1:1”, choreographed, performed and directed by Belinda McGuire, will be a full-length, semi-immersive (for the audience) production, presented by BMDP in Brooklyn in December 2023. The suite of dances with various technologies (which read the dancer, the audience and illuminate our connection) exploring the theme of identity forming and re-forming. “1:1” aims to illuminate how we are conditioned and how we condition other people and things, specifically focusing on how the voices of others integrate into our own internal voice, forming a scaffolding onto which our own voice grafts/grows, forging our personal narratives, calibrating our frame of viewing the world and shaping our identity.
