Ragas Live Festival is a 24-hour celebration of transcendent, spiritual music presented at Pioneer Works, in Red Hook, Brooklyn. One of the most impactful and dynamic events in global music, as many as 70 musicians perform over the cycle of a full day and night. The experience is rooted in South Asia’s classical music, raga, which is unique in that specific modes are only played at specific times during the day. The entire event is broadcast in front of a live audience from Brooklyn and reaches a global audience via WKCR 89.9 FM. Now in it's 12 year, many legends of music have participated in the Ragas Live Festival including Grammy winners Toumani Diabate, Zakir Hussein, Reggie Workman and Terry Riley.
