Renegade Performance Group gets set to present a series of new Afrofuturist dance and multidisciplinary projects over the course of 2023, including the new work, "Against Gravity: Flying Afrikans + Other Urban Legends" - A solo self-examination of Black masculinity using history, memory, text, poetry and geography. The narrative is shaped by three legendary figures from interdisciplinary artist André M. Zachery's youth in 1980s-90s Chicago: Fred Hampton, Harold Washington and Ben Wilson.
