There are voices on the local scale in Brooklyn that are creating works in the growing medium of video games. Arcade Commons believes that video arcade cabinets are part of an important social gaming space that should be created and controlled by the community, not just large companies. We will build a physical video game arcade cabinet in collaboration with a Brooklyn-based indie game development and art team. This unique playable installation will focus on giving players tactile and visual insight into Brooklyn’s climate and weather patterns through cooperative multiplayer interactivity.
