Loose (CHAINS) Change - a series of large scale multi-media tapestries (primarily leather & paper lottery tickets) as a reflection/projection of the reimagination of Hope that has become a lethal tool of capitalism within the community-rich centers of Black & Brown neighborhoods throughout the United States of America. This project challenges our current systems of capitalists gain through the gamification of US State Government funding. The "Make Your Own Luck" marketing ploy utilized by state based lottery agencies (targeted towards underfunded Black & Brown Communities) is scrutinized through the dynamic lens of craft tapestries in this series. Loose (Chains) Change crafts large scale tapestries (coverings) by which the litter of these games is collected, recycled, and reflected (by Black & Brown Community Liaisons) to question the theologies of money, poverty, wealth, gain, loss, and hope that persists through the Capitalist White Supremacist's systems that prevails within the history and legacy of the U.S. Lottery.
