“Nancy Drewinsky and the Search for the Missing Letter” is Robin Bady’s deeply personal one-woman show about the Communist Scare of the 1950’s. She tells the story of a group of scientists and engineers working for the U.S. Army on top secret communications research who were accused of being part of a spy ring sharing valuable secrets with the Russians. The scientists, targeted by Senator Joseph McCarthy, were all Jewish. They were questioned, humiliated, shunned, demoted or fired outright; no one talked about what happened. Her father was one of these men. The project will tour senior centers in Brooklyn and include a performance and talkback after the show.
