The Immigrant Imagination Lab is a series of theater workshops that will take place at the Sunset Park Library in 2024. This project is led by immigrant theater artists Ana Cantorán Viramontes from Mexico and Susanna Brock from Sweden. The workshops will be open to any English language learner that is interested and will offer an option for English learners who are looking for a creative and embodied way to practice the language, build community, grow their confidence and make art! Our curriculum prioritizes play, community building, and cultural celebration, offering a dynamic blend of physical theater, improvisation, storytelling, and role-playing. Tailored to the interests and needs of the participants, sessions will culminate in a collaborative sharing, celebrating the voices and stories of the participants.
