Camryn Jordyn
Camryn Jordyn is a visual artist and art therapist from Chicago, IL interested in using the arts as a means of building connection, self-intimacy, and wellness. Her work explores strong, uncomfortable emotions as a catalyst for reflection and change while still acknowledging its dialectical nature. With attention to intergenerational themes and patterns, she finds inspiration in the lived experiences of Black women and femmes in her life.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Howard University, Camryn continued on to Pratt Institute to obtain her master’s degree in Creative Art Therapy and Development. As an art therapist - LP, her interests lie in finding the potential for healing in all artistic practices and using creativity as a means of expression. In her painting, therapeutic practice, and community work, she centralizes the Black Queer community. She strongly believes that anyone can be an artist, and utilize the arts as means of empowerment.
