Grace Baley
Grace Baley is a NYC-based artist who has dedicated over two decades to perfecting her craft in glass mosaics. Her journey began with inspiration from the mosaic art found in subway stations, which served as a foundation for her experimentation with shapes, patterns, and glass cutting techniques. Over the years, she has evolved into a remarkable representational artist, creating highly detailed and realistic pieces, including portraiture and familiar imagery.
What sets Grace apart is her profound passion for color and her innate ability to combine hues harmoniously, enhancing the visual appeal of her art. Her dedication and talent have earned her numerous solo shows at prestigious venues throughout New York City, including Basin Gallery and Studios, Superfine, Arty Goodness, Blue Sky (Sag Harbor), Elements (Hudson), and Dewey's Candy. Additionally, she has been part of group exhibitions with respected institutions such as The 60 Collective, Van Der PLAS Gallery, New York Historical Society and most recently The White Room Gallery in East Hampton, NY. Grace's work has attracted collectors from around the world, and she often collaborates with architects and interior designers to create site-specific installations. Her smaller works can also be found in various retail shops across the city.
Grace's artistic journey is complemented by her educational background, as she holds a BFA from NYU and an MA in Childhood/Special Education. When not in her studio, Grace is a special education teacher for preschool children with disabilities. Additionally, she extends her passion for teaching through the mosaic art workshops she conducts throughout the city. Grace resides in Brooklyn with her two daughters and two rescue dogs from Puerto Rico, Jade and Benny.
