“The Voices of Brooklyn” is a documentary theater program in which older adults work with documentary theater-maker James Clements to (1) record their memories of life in their borough to create a verbatim audioplay; (2) take part in a photography project to document their lives today and (3) create a physical archive of images and objects reflecting the variety of both their lived experience and our borough. This verbatim theater program culminates with a listening party for the audio play, combining the voices of the seniors, a gallery of their images and an installation of the objects and mementoes that tell the stories of their lives so far.
