“Final Notice” is a multi-year, site-specific dance and community engagement project that confronts climate change, environmental racism, and historical erasure on the Brooklyn waterfront, explicitly emphasizing public health and environmental threats to neighborhoods with Superfund and Brownfield sites. Created in parallel to DRPP’s newly developed interactive map app, “Final Notice” will culminate in a free, outdoor traveling performance series for the general public in both Red Hook and Williamsburg in September 2021. Thus far, our mobile app appears to be the first for these neighborhoods highlighting the interrelationships between climate change, environmental protection, and multi-layered histories, while amplifying the actual stories of Brooklynites who live there today.

DRPP is proudly partnering with Red Hook Initiative and El Puente in the making of "Final Notice". By centering and amplifying the voices of local youth and community allies, we reimagine “archive” as a collaboratively generated, living record where science, history, personal storytelling, and activism meet.
