Commissioned for the Getty Theater Lab program, SSP is creating an original devised work of theater inspired by the ancient Greek legend of Cassandra, the woman gifted with prophecy and cursed never to be believed. The piece uses physical theater, shadow play, and object theater to interrogate this feeling of helplessness in the face of impending disaster and ask the questions: How do we talk about the future? How do we think about the future? How do we act?
