Grand Pistachio presents and excerpt from LAYER THE WALLS PART II: Josefina's Story. 1970, Lower East Side - Josefina and her older sister Gloria have always been there for each other, but the summer she turns 14 everything changes. Gloria decides to leave home and join the Young Lords, leaving Josefina to take care of their ailing mother. Gloria has big plans to change the healthcare system and help their mother, while Josefina just wants her to come home. When Gloria participates in a dangerous hospital takeover, they must both decide what is most important. Told with shadow puppetry this piece is appropriate for ages 8 and up.
