Persephone DaCosta
Persephone DaCosta, is a renaissance woman whose passion for the arts has led her to utilize dance to motivate, rejuvenate, inspire and create change amongst people of all ages. Born of Trinidadian descent she has extensive training in dance and community development through the arts. She has trained in West African, Haitian folklore, Afro Caribbean, Soca Fitness, Dancehall & Afrobeatz. She believes the Arts is a gift that everyone regardless of race, age, religion or socio-economic status should experience. Cultural Arts transcends boundaries and unifies people. Ms. DaCosta uses cultural arts and dance to bring healing, happiness and love to communities.
In "Africa Speaks: Explore the Dance, Singing & Crafts of West Africa and the Afro Caribbean Diaspora," seniors will learn cultural dances, songs, rhythms and how to create easy crafts from West Africa & the Afro Caribbean Diaspora. They will be able to participate in movement, music and craft workshops and create the backdrop and props for their public culminating event.
