POWER UP is an annual free workshops program about art and technology specifically conceived for teens between 16 and 22 years old, conducted via Zoom.

Conceived by POWRPLNT, in collaboration with other collectives and organizations with similar interests, it is based on the critical belief that understanding technology equals the power to determine our future. POWER UP is an opportunity to explore what it means to live now in this increasingly digital world while simultaneously honing community, creativity, and literacy.

POWER UP's main goals are that participants will leave the program with exposure to art & technology spaces and as a start of a community of young creatives who want to use technology to build a better world.

POWRPLNT's method is to teach technological skills by advertising the outcome. Teens are motivated to participate because there is a tangible goal. By providing teens with the resources to learn new digital languages, we encourage conversation and inspire cultural awareness and engagement. With these newly learned languages, teens of underrepresented communities are given a voice.

POWRPLNT believes that strengthening networks and work collaboratively is now more meaningful and relevant than ever. Encourage teens to think in this way we are sure that will make a difference.
