Karen Friedland
I am the Wild Queen of Color. I have traveled so many roads along the way but now as an artist, I have earned my title. I love design, how things fit together, to make spaces flow. Pattern and color enrich my life and infuse my spirit with their soulful energy and iridescent calm. Not doing this journey alone, along the way I have acquired a husband, two daughters, two grandchildren and many friends. Their love and support help sustain me.
Participants in “Sculptural Stories” will be engaged through sculpture in exploring stories of their life experiences, inner selves and living environment. The stories will be interpreted through sculpture using the art skills taught at each session. Additionally, participants will gain skills in surface decoration. Diverse skills and confidence will build as they reach for mastery. Participants will achieve a sense of accomplishment and pride in the personal artworks. Through sculpture, the mind-body connection will bring power to creative self-expression. Participants will enhance manual dexterity by using the various media: clay, wire, paper mache, etc.
